Suspended Alterations

Suspended Alterations is an assemblage created for the window space in the Harbor Gallery for the exhibit Through The Virtual Looking Glass. The sculpture as a whole is a visual investigation of the dichotomy and inter-connectivity of the digital and the real. Karina uses a poetic visual language to examine concepts of communication and identity. The piece incorporates ready made objects and found objects to illustrate an iconic and historic trajectory of the quotidian. The artist purposefully integrates the work with the surface of the glass window to consider further metaphors.
